A Thanksgiving Day Tradition

A hospital stay is never easy, add to it that your kiddo is in the hospital during the holidays and that only makes it harder. Logan McCarthy and her family know exactly how these families are feeling. Logan was a patient at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center during Thanksgiving several years ago.

As a way to help say thank you for helping to save her life, and to help make the holidays a little warmer and brighter for our pediatric patients and their families, Logan, her husband, and her mom and step dad, come back to EMMC each Thanksgiving to cook a turkey dinner. They’re joined by staff in Child Life and the team from Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Foundation. There’s everything from stuffing to mashed potatoes, to apple and pumpkin pies.

Logan, thank you for helping to brighten the spirits of our patients this holiday season!
