Gamers Going Gold

Calling all gamers! Earn a gold medal in the eyes of some incredible kids this September simply by registering to participate in Extra Life 2018!

Not familiar with Extra Life? No worries! Extra Life is a 24 hour gaming marathon to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. And, much like a local charity 5K, gamers reach out to their network of family and friends to ask for donations and support.

The generosity of our local gaming community is invaluable and the funding provides critical dollars that help ensure local pediatric cancer care is available at Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center for kiddos from throughout central, eastern, and northern Maine, kids like Ellie who bravely beat a rare form of childhood cancer in her eye.

As her dad shares, “It is hard to watch someone you love go through the pain, the sickness, all of the unknown that comes along with this horrible disease. It is even harder when it is your child. However after the darkness came the light and I know that her journey has made her who she is. She is a healthy independent young woman, who is caring towards others and wise beyond her years.”
