Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is proud to have strong network of volunteers. These folks go above and beyond to help us fulfill our mission to care for our patients, their families, and the communities we serve.

Project NICU is one of our volunteer committees. The committee is made up of moms and dads who’ve lived the NICU experience with their newborn. Their mission is critical to helping the team in the NICU care for our patients and families. They speak the NICU language. They know the sights of the tubes and the sounds of the alarms. They can help ease some of the fears and anxieties of having a newborn in the NICU. We’re truly grateful for their kindness and generosity, and now thanks to a donation from 100 Neighbors Who Care, they’re able to do even more!

On Friday, Heidi Sharpe, chair, proudly accepted a check for more than $13,000. The committee is excited to do a whole lot more to help our tiniest patients, and we’re truly grateful for the support!

Heidi will join 100 Neighbors at their December meeting to show how Project NICU has put these funds to great work!
