Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Restricts Visitors

As concerns continue to mount surrounding COVID-19, and to ensure the health and safety of our patients, their families, our caregivers and the community, we’ve taken steps to limit the number of visitors at the hospital.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is limiting visitors to one (1) per patient and not allowing anyone under the age of 18 to visit. This enhanced visitation policy is intended to limit the number of people in waiting areas, and in other areas of the hospital, who might be contagious and spread the virus to vulnerable patients and our healthcare staff.

We are evaluating elective appointments and procedures, postponing where appropriate and will be reaching out to patients as needed. All patients and visitors should be prepared to answer a few screening questions about health and recent travel history, so be prepared for a few extra moments when you arrive at all areas of the hospital.
