One Mile, Two Mile, 26.2 Miles

Please join us in shouting congratulations to Heidi Sharpe. Heidi ran her first marathon this morning, leaving from Hampden where she and her family live, and ending in Bangor at the sight of her childhood home.

Heidi ran in memory of Bea, her mom who bravely fought lung cancer before passing away a few years ago. But she was also running for everyone who has been touched by cancer. The funds Heidi raised through community support will benefit research and patient assistance at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Lafayette Family Cancer Institute through her Champion the Cure Challenge team, Nanie’s Busy Beas.

If you’ve have the chance to meet Heidi, you know that there are two causes close to her heart, cancer care and the neonatal intensive care unit. We’ve had the opportunity to get to know her through both. And we’re so very grateful for her kindness and support. We’re so proud of you, Heidi!
