Preventive Measures In Place to Protect Patients from the Flu

Much like last year, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is taking proactive steps to ensure the health and well-being of our patients and their families during flu season.

Starting on Monday, February 11th, EMMC will screen all visitors at the Main Entrance for flu-like symptoms. While we realize this isn’t always easy and convenient, we’re asking visitors younger than 12 years old to stay home, and connect with their friends and loved ones at the hospital via phone or FaceTime. We’re happy to make exceptions on a case by case basis for things such as end of life and critical care. We’re also asking all family and friends who don’t feel well to stay home.

These preventive measures will help us to reduce the risk of flu transmission at EMMC.
