“All About Me,” – A Special Journal for the Tiniest Patients

Eastern Maine Medical Center is among our EMHS Foundation Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that prides itself by providing a patient centered experience. A core piece of this care model are patient advisory committees, including a special group of parents who make up Project NICU. This is a volunteer led committee of parents who are all too familiar with a stay in EMMC’s NICU, and they’re here to provide support for families who are facing a similar journey.

Project NICU also created special journals, “All About Me,” that highlight the milestones premature babies celebrate along the journey. “We knew we wanted to do something special to celebrate the milestones because they are not reflected in a typical baby book or journal that you might receive at your shower,” explains Heidi Sharpe, committee chair. Heidi is mom to two beautiful daughters who each spent time in EMMC’s NICU.

This special journal was funded by donations raised at EMHS Foundation Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner locations throughout central, eastern, and northern Maine.
