Spreading Christmas Cheer

MacKenzie Schors and her family know all too well what it means to spend the holidays in the hospital. MacKenzie was born several weeks early in November 2005. She spent her first Thanksgiving, her first Christmas, New Year’s Day and Valentine’s Day in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Today, MacKenzie is a happy and healthy 15-year old who pays it forward by filling gift bags with special keepsakes for parents who are spending the holidays in the hospital with their tiny miracle. The bags are filled with blankets and an ornament. And this year, the family also delivered coffee, tea, and Gatorade for the family lounge, as well as cash for the staff to purchase meal vouchers for families.

Thank you, MacKenzie!
